A long broadwalk totally free of architectural barriers will connect the railway station of Porto Ceresio (Varese) to Brusino Arsizio (Switzerland). It will be totally accessible to phisical disabled peolple, old people and visual impair people. This is the core of the project “handiAMOalLAGO” (Let’s go to the lake). It is promoted by the italian municipality of Porto Ceresio and the Swiss municipality of Brusino. If this project will be approved it could lead a revolution to the tourism in this region.

The broadwalk will offer tactile maps to visual impair people and i twill have no barriers. I twill offer to everybody the chance to “enjoy the lake, its structures, its turistical and sportive potentials”, says Monia Casale, managing director for social Services of Porto Ceresio. Furthermore will be realized access points dedicated to the beaches for people with disabilities and accessible playgrounds for children with disabilities.

First target of this projects is adding value to the naturalistic and touristic resources of the region. If this resources will be properly improved, they can be used by everybody. Not just disabled people, but also old people, people with phisical impairs, mothers with toddlers and strollers can appreciate this project. And a new broadwalk along the shores of the lake… totally free access.
