Train

The usability of rail transport is analyzed from three points of view:

  • accessibility of stations;
  • accessibility of trains;
  • assistance services for passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility.

The number of trains and railway stations that satisfy the requirements of accessibility and usability for people with disabilities is growing steadily.

However there are still stations and longstanding railway cars that do not meet these standards, and that can be not taken independently by travelers with disabilities. For this, according to the European Regulation (EC) n.1371/2007, passengers with disabilities and reduced mobility are entitled to receive a free service station, after booking the service.
